Markhor is a story of three university friends who belong from different countries but they study together in university Who decide to do their project on Markhor. One day they leave for Pakistan from where the actual journey and adventurous fun begins. The journey of Deniz, Christian and hafsa.
.
The story is set in the beautiful mountains of Pakistan. We see so many glimpses of chitral. The book definitely takes you on a journey of chitral and different places and traditions and people of chitral. The lifestyle, the history and h
ow people of chitral live their lives etc. And as a tourist how to do prepare yourselves for the survival.
.
The book is well written in an understandable language and some desi touch too which makes it more relatable. The whole has been divided into several chapters each containing different title that reflects the theme and idea of the chapter. Another amazing thing I found in this book was the addition of urdu poetry with English translations at the start of each chapter which was connected with each chapter. This addition of poetry makes this book different and beautiful in so many ways.
.
The ending was unexpected but loved it. I highly recommend this book to all readers who loves Adventurous stories and who loves ambiguous endings. Dig into Markhor (in the search of unseen) to find out if the unseen Markhor was seen or unseen? In both cases the qualities of a Markhor was present everywhere in this book.
.
Through this book readers will learn the importance of resilience, adaptability, resourcefulness and most importantly, the essence of the survival instinct to be a Markhor.
.
On your marks.
Get set.
Markhor!
